(7) Change the MODULATION (modulation frequency) of
the signal generator as shown below.
MODULATION (modulation frequency) : 10 kHz
(Note : 10 kHz modulation frequency must be set by
using the function generator.)
Check that the distortion ratio is less than 8 %.
(8) Set the channel setting (Tuner 1) and FREQUENCY
(carrier frequency) of the signal generator as shown 1
and 2 below.
Perform the procedures (1) to (7) above, for each chan-
nel setting (1 and 2).
1 Channel setting :
Same as procedure (15) section of "3-2-5. S/N
Checking".
2 Channel setting :
Same as procedure (15) section of "3-2-5. S/N
Checking".
(9) Connect the signal generator to ANT b connector.
(10)Perform the procedures (5) to (8).
Step 2. Tuner 2 Checking
(1) Set the CONTROL switch (S1601) to "2".
(2) Connect the audio analyzer to the OUTPUT 2 connec-
tor via the MIC amp.
(3) Connect the signal generator to the ANT a connector.
(4) Set the channel setting as follows;
. Tuner 2 channel setting
Same as "1. Switch and Control Initial Setting" on
page 3-2.

Set the Tuner 1 to channel setting different from the
above Tuner 2 channel setting.
(5) Perform the checking from the procedures (5) to (10) in
"Step 1. Tuner 1 checking".
When performing the above described checking change
the following detail as shown below.
OUTPUT 1 → OUTPUT 2
→ Tuner 2

tion and battery case installed.
(Do under the regular use condition).

(Set the RF squelch level to "10" )
Procedure
Step 1. Tuner 1 Checking
(1) Set the CONTROL switch (S1601) to "1".
(2) Set the channel setting as follows;

Set the Tuner 2 to channel setting different from the
above Tuner 1 channel setting.
(3) Connect the audio analyzer to the OUTPUT 1 connec-
tor via MIC amp.
(4) Connect the signal generator to the ANT a connector.
