Put your hands at either side of the extended cushion (lower tier) and pull it upwards and towards
you as shown in A3. The seating on this part of the base works on a mechanism that allows the
base to rise and move into a position where it will rest safely on the front of the skirting to form an
extended bed surface as shown in A4.

You will be left with a gap at the back of the bed. This is where the back cushion, when
repositioned, fits.
