Selection/Installation/Changing the blade

Only use ROMUS blades which are compatible with the machine.
U-shaped blades are used for flexible materials laid in strips. It stripping is difficult, use a narrower
blade
The flat blades are angled to the floor for removing flexible and/or brittle tiled floor coverings.
To remove materials with a foam backing, use very sharp (new) blades and remove the foam during
the first pass as it will be generally impossible to remove it with the stripper if the rigid part has
already been removed.
Before changing the blade, remove the plug from the mains socket.
Warning! The blades are very sharp, there is a major risk of injury, wear cut-resistant gloves.
1. Disconnect the machine
2. Remove the weights (see Fitting weights on page 11)
3. Loosen the blade locking screws by two turns
4. Position the block provided flat on the floor
5. Tilt the machine backwards by pressing down on the handle and place it on the block so that the
blade is not touching the floor
6. Ensure the machine is in a stable position
7. Remove the worn blade
8. Install the new blade ensuring that it is pushed fully home in the blade holder and hand tighten
one of the locking screws
9. Place the machine back on the floor in normal position
10. Tighten all the blade screws using the wrench
