LIF MODULES
The LIF (Legacy Interface) modules is located at the bottom right of
the MSED/HL950. Modules can be slot in and are fastened by the
front panel screws.

The LIF module includes either an E1 Interface Module or a Legacy
V.35/V.36/X.21 Interface Module for connection to the local network
as described in the following sections.

For 120 ohms balanced operation

120 ohms and 75 ohms cables cannot be connected simul-
taneously. When using 75 ohms unbalanced operation, you have to
change the strapping on the E1 card. The procedure is described on
the next page.
The RJ45 connector has two LEDs. The left LED (Carrier) lit when
receive carrier is detected and the right LED (Sync) indicates when the
board is searching for frame synchronization.
