Cushion Instructions: Cushion Inflation and Cover Placement
Warnings:
- DO NOT use a product that is underinflated or overinflated, because 1) the product benefits
will be reduced or eliminated, resulting in an increased risk to skin and other soft tissue,
and 2) the individual may become unstable and vulnerable to falling. Carefully follow the
instructions for inflation, placement and hand check.
- After setting up the cushion the first time, check inflation frequently, at least once a day.
Follow the "Hand Check" instructions. See the next page.
- If the product does not appear to be holding air, or if you are not able to inflate or deflate the
product, see "Troubleshooting". Immediately contact your equipment provider, distributor, or
Customer Support if the problem persists.
- When possible, use the hook or loop fasteners to further secure the cushion to the seating
surface.

Cushion Inflation:

1. Overinflate the cushion:
a. Slide the hand pump nozzle over the
inflation valve. Open the inflation valve.
b. Inflate the cushion until all of the air
cells feel firm.
c. Close the inflation valve and remove
the hand pump.
2. Carefully follow the instructions for "Cover
Placement".

Cover Placement:

Note: Keeping a cover on your cushion will help
to protect the cushion components. A cover
will also help to keep the air cells together,
which may aid in slide board transfers.
3. Place the cushion inside the cover:
a. Unfold the cover.
b. Insert the cushion.
c. Close the zipper.
Note: When covered, the cushion should lie
flat on the chair (non-skid material on the
bottom).
4. Carefully follow the instructions for
"Cushion Placement" and "Hand Check".

Standard Cover: The corners of the cushion should be
visible through the corner openings of the cover.
Heavy Duty Cover (COV-HD): The inflation
valve should point toward the zipper.
