1.17 Battery information
Certifier40G local and remote units are powered by identical
Lithium Ion rechargeable batteries. These batteries contain
circuitry that report their state of charge to Certifier40G. The
units can also be powered by external AC power.
Connecting the Certifier40G to AC power, also recharges the
batteries.
A fully charged battery can run Certifier40G for five to eight
hours before requiring recharging. Reducing the screen
brightness and enabling the sleep function allows
Certifier40G to run longer on a charge.
CAUTION
Do not charge the battery if the ambient temperature
is above 40°C or 105°F. Contact your nearest
Technical Support center if in doubt.

CAUTION
Use only the external AC Adapter supplied with the
Certifier40G kit. Using other power supplies may
damage the tester and will void the warranty.
1.18 Battery Safety
To avoid the risk of fire, burns or damage to your battery
pack, do not allow metal objects to touch the battery
contacts.
