1.5 Touch Control
Certifier40G consists of two identical devices for dual-ended
certification testing. An included label may be placed at the
bottom of the unit to distinguish the local and remote unit.
Both the devices include LCD displays and touch screens
with identical look and feel. This allows you to start and
save test results, and view results from either ends of the
test.

1.6 Certifier40G Adapters

All Certifier40G test adapters plug into the adapter slot at the
top of the local and remote units. Certifier40G automatically
detects any adapters connected to it and configures its
interface to the matching parameters and limits.
1.7 Permanent Link Adapters and Channel
Adapters
The standard Certifier40G test kit (NGC-4500-FA-xx)
includes adapters for testing copper cabling in both
Permanent Link and Channel Link configurations.
Permanent Link adapters connect to the customer's wall
plate and telecommunications panel jacks. Certifier40G
software compensates for the adapter's transmission
characteristics so they do not affect test results.
Certifier40G uses a revolutionary scheme of testing
permanent link configurations that provide highly accurate
and repeatable measurements. Since permanent link
measurements are highly influenced by the performance of
the RJ-45 jack and the link cord, the wear and tear of the
cord contributes adversely to the accuracy of measurements.
In traditional certification equipment where the permanent
link adapter is tethered to the permanent link cable, any
degradation in the cord requires the replacement of the
