4.3.2 Installing Mellanox NATIVE ESXi Driver for VMware vSphere

Please uninstall all previous Mellanox driver packages prior to installing the new version. See

Removing Earlier Mellanox Drivers

To install the driver:
a. Log into the ESXi server with root permissions.
b. Install the driver.
#> esxcli software vib install –d <path>/<bundle_file>
Example:
#> esxcli software vib install -d /tmp/MLNX-NATIVE-ESX-ConnectX-6-5_4.

c. Reboot the machine.
d. Verify the driver was installed successfully.

After the installation process, all kernel modules are loaded automatically upon boot.
4.3.3 Removing Earlier Mellanox Drivers
Please unload the previously installed drivers before removing them.
To remove all the drivers:
a. Log into the ESXi server with root permissions.
b. List all the existing NATIVE ESXi driver modules. (See Step 4 in
Driver for VMware
c. Remove each module:
#> esxcli software vib remove -n nmlx5-rdma
#> esxcli software vib remove -n nmlx5-core
To remove the modules, you must run the command in the same order as shown in the example
above.
d. Reboot the server.
