Gas Media Sets
WARNING
The positioning of the media is critical to the safe
and clean operation of this heater. Sooting and other
problems may result if the media is not properly
positioned in the appliance. Never add additional
media or embellishments such as pine cones,
vermiculite or rock wool to the heater. Only use the
media supplied with the unit.
Failure to position the parts in accordance with
diagrams below or to use only parts specifically
approved for this heater may result in property
damage or personal injury.
A. Media Placement
NOTE: When installing glass media, use caution around
the pilot area. After glass is placed, make sure to clear
any media from the pilot tube, thermopile and bracket.
1. Use all supplied bags of media and place on top of
the engine assembly with cover in place. Smooth out
the glass into an even layer over the engine assembly
as shown in the figure below. See Figure 5.1.

WARNING
• Gloves are recommended when handling media
to prevent skin irritation from sharp glass.
• Use only media provided with kit.
• DO NOT ADD ADDITIONAL MEDIA.
Wash hands after placing media. Itching may occur.
NOTE: Installation instructions are the same for 18",
24" and 30" sets. Pictures used in this instruction
illustrate the 24" set. Some variation may exist between
the images and the set included with the instructions.
Only use the correct amount of media for each SKU.
