Adding Media to the Reactor Loosen the four thumbscrews on the reactor lid, then remove the lid by twisting in a counter- clockwise motion. Remove the upper media plates and upper lter sponge*. Ensure that the lower lter sponge is all the way at the bottom of the reactor chamber, ush against the lower media plate, to prevent media leakage.

Adding Media to the Reactor (con.) Cover the opening of the inlet pipe to block media from falling in prior to pouring your chosen media into the reactor chamber. For media designed to be fully uidized, the reactor should be lled no more than two-thirds full to allow the media room to move around.
