Scan Mode:
· Multiping: check "Multiping" to enable multiple ping mode. The sonar head will step
and transmit multiple pings with single command. This mode will significantly
increase the scan rate in short range applications but may increase the noise and
require higher bandwidth telemetry.
· Profile In Head: when "Multiping" mode is enabled, check "Profile In Head" to
enable the profile extraction in the sonar head. This mode will reduced the amount
of data unlinked to the surface, thus increasing the scan rate.
Parameters:
· Minimum Range: the system will start looking for profile returns from this range.
· Maximum Range: the system will stop looking for profile return above this range.
· Minimum Width: the signal level above the threshold needs to be maintained
above this width to be considered as profile returns.
Threshold Curve:
· Adjust the Threshold Curve to set the detection thresholds to different levels at
different angles. This can be used to compensate for weaker returns at flatter
grazing angles versus the stronger returns at normal.
· Click Reset button to reset the threshold curve to a flat line which gives the same
threshold from 0 to 360 degrees.
Note: The threshold curve will not affect the "Profile In Head" mode.
