Possible cause
Collector box overflowing due to
material backing up in the cutting
unit.
Cutting unit clogged with wet mate-
rial to be shredded.
Blades blunt or damaged
Motor protection switch switched
off due to cutting disk overload or
blockage.
Bolts on the motor, its mounting,
the carriage or the cutting unit are
loose.
Possible cause
Direction of rotation switch in zero
position.
Collector box missing or not
locked.
Mains socket (house installation)
defective.
Extension lead defective.
Direction of rotation of the cutting
drum incorrect.
Collector box overflowing due to
material backing up in the cutting
drum.
Cutting drum clogged with wet ma-
terials to be shredded.
Counterplate in the cutting unit not
correctly adjusted.
Motor protection switch switched
off due to cutting disk overload or
blockage.
Help in case of malfunctions
Solution
Empty collector box.
Remove material to be shredded from
the cutting unit, if necessary, see see
chapter 7.4 "Clearing a cutting disk/
cutting drum blockage", page 23.
Clear the clogging by feeding branch
material.
Turn or replace the blades, see see
chapter 8.2 "Replacing/turning the
shredder blades (MH 2810) (11/12)",
page 24
The motor can be switched on again
after a cool-down phase of approx.
five minutes.
Re-tighten bolts.
Solution
Turn the direction of rotation switch
to the left or right.
Push collector box in completely and
lock it.
Use a different mains socket in the
house.
Inspect the lead and replace it, if
necessary.
Turn direction of rotation switch to
the left (normal operation).
Empty collector box.
Remove material to be shredded
from the cutting unit, if necessary,
see see chapter 7.4 "Clearing a cut-
ting disk/cutting drum blockage",
page 23.
Clear the clogging by feeding branch
material.
Readjust the counterplate, see see
chapter 8.3 "Re-adjusting the coun-
terplate (LH 2810) (07)", page 25.
The motor can be switched on again
after a cool-down phase of approx.
five minutes.
