SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
WARNING! Ensure Health & Safety, local authority, and general workshop practice regulations are adhered to when using the torch.

Familiarise yourself with the application and limitations, as well as the potential hazards, of the torch.

Replace or repair damaged parts. Use genuine parts only. Unauthorised parts may be dangerous and will invalidate the warranty.
!
DO NOT repair the torch yourself, use an authorised service agent.

WARNING! Use and handle the butane gas (lighter fuel) in accordance with any instructions supplied with the fuel.

Butane gas is highly flammable so keep an appropriate fire extinguisher at hand.
!
Ensure there are no flammable or combustible materials near the work area.
!
Keep the work area clean, uncluttered and ensure there is adequate ventilation and lighting.
!
Keep children and unauthorised persons away from the working area.
!
Remove ill fitting clothing. Remove ties, watches, rings, and other loose jewellery, and contain and/or tie back long hair.
!
Point the torch away from yourself and others when igniting flame.
!
Keep hands and body clear of the torch head when operating as it becomes very hot.
!
When using the burner holder (fig 3.A), follow operating instructions to produce correct gas flow. DO NOT use with the blue flame.
!
Secure unstable workpiece with a clamp, vice or other adequate holding device.
!
DO NOT get the torch wet.

DO NOT use torch where there are flammable liquids, solids or gases such as paint solvents and including waste wiping or cleaning rags etc.
&
DO NOT use the torch for any purpose other than for which it is designed.
&
DO NOT use accessories other than those supplied with, or manufactured specifically for use with, the torch.

WARNING! DO NOT touch the torch head during, or immediately after, use. Allow the torch to cool naturally before handling.

DO NOT cool the torch in water.
&
DO NOT point the torch at yourself, others, or animals.
&
DO NOT use the torch for more than 15 minutes at a time as it may overheat. After 15 minutes allow the torch to cool before re-use.
&
DO NOT lay the torch on a surface. Use stand supplied.
&
DO NOT operate the torch when you are tired, under the influence of alcohol, drugs or intoxicating medication.
&
DO NOT allow untrained persons to operate the torch.
&
DO NOT operate the torch if any parts are damaged or missing as this may cause failure and/or personal injury.
&
DO NOT touch the workpiece close to the heated area as it will be very hot. Allow to cool.
&
DO NOT leave the torch operating unattended.
&
When work is complete, allow the torch to cool. Clean the torch and accessories and store in a safe, dry, childproof location.

DO NOT store in direct sun light or where the temperature could exceed 104

2.
INTRODUCTION
The butane gas torch is portable and lightweight, suitable for
heating, soldering, shrinking and many other applications.
Powered by butane gas (lighter fuel), the torch has a push
button start and anti-flare device to enable quick and clean
operation.
AK2941 is supplied with Soldering Head and Tip, Sponge and Stand. AK2953 is supplied in a Carry Case together with, Hot Air Nozzle, Deflector
Nozzle, Soldering Head and Tips, Probe, Hot Knife, Sponge and Stand.
3.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

WARNING! Ensure you have read and understood the safety instructions before using the torch.

NOTE: The torch is dispatched without any fuel. The user must fuel the torch as follows.
3.1.
TO FUEL THE TORCH.
3.1.1. Use only high quality butane gas (lighter fuel) to fill the torch.
3.1.2. Ensure the gas flow is turned off. See figure 1, on/off indicator.
3.1.3. Follow the instructions on the butane fuel container.
3.1.4. Apply the container filler tip to the torch base inlet valve (fig 2.1). Use a pumping action for best filling results.
3.1.5. The torch will take about 20 seconds to fill. Once full, allow gas in the torch to stand and stabilise for a few minutes before use.
