3 INSTALLATION CHECKLIST
An EMB Hub system installation requires the following components:
Required hardware:
•
EMB Hub A8810 data acquisition server (required)
•
Ethernet connection
•
Ethernet Cat 5 cable (required for LAN or direct laptop to EMB Hub connection)
•
Power Supply: 24VDC
Optional hardware:
•
Additional Modbus RTU devices power meters (e.g., Veris Enercept, PML Ion, Emon ProMon, etc)
•
2 wire, twisted pair with shield for Modbus/RS485 connection. (Belden
•
Termination resistor (120 ohm) for long RS485 runs over 200 ft.
LAN information:
•
Ethernet 10/100Mbit connection point (hub or switch)
•
IP address and Netmask (check with system administrator)
•
Gateway address (check with system administrator)
•
DNS server address (check with system administrator)
•
HTTP Proxy address (optional), may be required if the EMB Hub is behind a firewall
(check with system administrator)

Insulation connected to meters inside high voltage panels should have an insulation rating in excess of the
service voltage. Consult a licensed electrician and local building codes for further requirements that may
apply.
