Purchase Cards with chip must in principle be authorised on this terminal via the chip. In the case of a reading error, the terminal will automatically prompt you to retrieve the data by swiping the magnetic strip reader, provided the bank has enabled the card for this. In the case of credit cards with chip the decision is first made during the booking as to whether the customer confirms the payment with signature or PIN.

Security Checklist for merchant at POS Always compare the signature on the receipt with the one on the card. Please check the validity period of the card with the embossed dates. If only one date is given, this represents the date of expiry. Use the UV security features on credit cards: if no UV security features are visible under UV light, it is highly probable that the card is a fake.
