6.1 Installation
To ensure adequate protection against electrostatic discharge, the
device must be installed inside a suitable (non-metallic) housing
so that there is no risk of the circuit being damaged by contact with
fingers or objects.
6.2 Connection
The actuator runs on batteries or rechargeable batteries with a DC
voltage of between 5 and 15 V. The actuator features a reversible
fuse to protect the voltage source against overload in the event of
a device defect. It also has integrated protection against polarity
reversal. When connecting the operating voltage, ensure the correct
connection polarity.
The example application on the next page shows various wiring
options for the output. The dotted line on the second diagram shows
how the power supply can potentially be provided from the circuit
that is being controlled. In order to ensure that the equipment is
electrically safe, the feeding source for the output voltage must be
a safety extra-low voltage. In addition, the output must be equipped
with a fuse (3 A).
6.3 Simple operating functions on the device
You can operate the actuator immediately with the channel button
(teaching is not required) and check for correct electrical installation.
The button is used like an ON/OFF toggle switch.
Only the brief button press is used for operation. The longer button
press (longer than 4 seconds) switches the actuator to teach mode.
