Installation instructions

The supplementary heater must be fitted by an authorised specialist under consideration of the these
operation and installation instructions and the operating and installation instructions of the storage
heater.
All electrical connection and installation work must be performed in accordance with the VDE
regulations 0100, the regulations of the electricity supply company responsible and the pertinent
national and regional regulations.
2.1

Packing Unit

1 supplementary heater and fastening material
1 ON/OFF switch with 2 wires
1 temperature regulator 50 °C with wire (blue)
1 temperature regulator 113 °C (purple marking)
1 Operating and installation instructions
1 separate wire with flat receptacle and flat distributor
1 cable harness
1 copper bridge

Installation

Disconnect the storage heater from the power supply before starting installation work.
When connecting the storage heater to an automatic charging control unit, there may be
voltage at the terminals A1/Z1 – A2/Z2 even when the fuses are removed.
2.2.1

Order of Installation

• Remove air outlet and inlet grille, front wall and right side wall as described in the storage heater
operation and installation instructions.
• Press the dummy cap (1) for the switch (2) out of the top right of the control panel from the
switching area side using a suitable tool.
No switch must be inserted in the control panel if there is an external room temperature
regulator with an supplementary heater switch.
• Push the 2 black wires (length L = 420 mm) with the flat connectors onto the switch (2) through the
holder (3) and snap the holder onto the metal bracket (4).
• Press the On/Off switch (2) with the symbol "Heat" into the right of the holder.
• Connect the two black wires from the switch on the terminal strip X2 to LH and LH' (see the
appropriate circuit diagram).
• Fix the temperature regulator N3 (50 °C) with 2 self-tapping screws 3.5x9.5 underneath the bottom
heating element connections on the intermediate wall (in the existing small holes).
To do this, remove the "angle plate for holding the mains terminals" (12) in the switching area after
loosening (not removing) the screw in the rear wall.
The floor of the temperature controller must be level.
• Unscrew the air guidance assembly (6), pull out and remove the air flap (7) (protect against damage).
• Fix the temperature regulator N2 (113 °C, with purple marking) on the back of the air guidance
assembly with 2 self-tapping screws M3x6.

• Install the supplementary heater (9).
Latch the lock clips (10.1, two for radiators) in the slots on the right-hand side of the air guidance
assembly (6). Latch the remaining clip(s) in the air guidance assembly underside.
Slip the pendulum plate (11.1) onto the radiator.
Position the radiator firmly in the lock clip, insert the pendulum plate in the slots to the left of the air
guidance assembly and fasten from the rear.
