If you cannot reach your gas supplier,
call the fire department.

This is an unvented gas-fired heater. It
uses air (oxygen) from the room in which
it is installed. Provisions for adequate
combustion and ventilating air must be
provided. Refer to page 6.
This appliance may be installed in an
aftermarket, permanently located,
manufactured (mobile) home, where not
prohibited by local codes.
This appliance is only for use with the type
of gas indicated on the rating plate. This
appliance is not convertible for use with
other gases.
INSTALLER: Leave this manual with the
appliance.
CONSUMER: Retain this manual for future
reference.

These appliances are approved for installation in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. The Board of State Examiners of Plumbers and Gas Fitters has issued approval number G1-1115-175 for these appliances.

    INSTALLING THE FIREPLACE The H Series Vent Free Gas Fireplace must be placed on a sturdy and level surface. It can be placed on the floor or a raised platform made ONLY of wood or non-combustible materials - do not place the fireplace on carpet or vinyl tile.

    Verify proper operation after servicing. ELECTRICAL ASSEMBLY The H Series Vent Free Gas Fireplace requires the internal receptacle (supplied) to be wired to a 120V AC branch circuit according to all applicable codes.     The installation of this fireplace must conform with local codes or, in the absence of local codes, with the National Fuel Gas Code, ANSI Z223.1. The H Series Vent Free Gas Fireplace is shipped from the factory for use with natural gas ONLY. Conversion to another fuel is NOT permitted.

    THE FIRST FIRE The first time you light your H Series Vent Free Gas Fireplace an odor may be given off by the unit. This is normal and is a result of the ‘burn off’ of the lubricants and sealants used when manufacturing the fireplace.

    MAINTENANCE A qualified service agency should conduct an annual inspection and maintenance of your H Series Vent Free Gas Fireplace to keep it running safely. The following procedures should be performed only by a qualified service person. The gas supply should be turned off whenever a maintenance procedure is performed. All parts of the fireplace that are removed for servicing must be replaced prior to operation.

The home automation system cannot adjust the flame height; it can turn the fireplace on or off (no flame adjustment).

    Some building code jurisdictions require that outside or “make-up” air be provided when installing a fireplace of this type.
