IMPORTANT
Installation and service

Installation

• Do NOT attempt to install the FlexStep Compact by yourself; the installation MUST be
done by certified service engineers.
• Do NOT remove any protection covers or safety covers as this may cause the FlexStep
Compact to operate unintentionally and may cause personal injury.

Service

• All service MUST be done by certified service engineers, please contact your local dis-
tributor for more information.

Safety

IR Sensors mounted avoid squeezing between the steps. If the IR Sensors are activated
when the FlexStep Compact is moving from stair to lift, movement will stop and an acoustic
alarm will sound.
Underneath the FlexStep Compact there are pressure zones to avoid squeezing objects un-
derneath the lift. If someone or something is underneath the lift, it will automatically stop
when it touches something, and an acoustic alarm will sound.
Although the safety facilities mounted on the lift is very advanced, be aware of the following:

To avoid squeezing injuries do not operate the FlexStep Compact
from upper or lower level while someone is on the staircase
To avoid squeezing injuries do not operate the FlexStep Compact
while someone is standing near or underneath the lift/staircase.
To avoid squeezing injuries do not operate the FlexStep Compact
while someone is standing near to or in front of the lift/staircase.
