2-5-2. Restoration of This Unit

In case that the power is accidentally turned off during the
version upgrade, this unit may not start up. In such a case,
restore this unit according to the following procedure. The
procedure varies depending on the file used in the version
upgrade.
When using DM179AP.VUP (SY)
1. Check that the Memory Stick to which the
DM179AP.VUP file is copied is inserted in this unit.
2. Remove the top cover. (Refer to Section 1-3-1.)
3. Disconnect the harness connected to the connector
(CN1458) on the MA-142 board and connect it to
CN905 (MA-142 board).
4. Turn on the power of this unit while pressing the
[PRINT] button.
5. Check that the indicators (D301 to D307) on the MA-
142 board flash (flashing interval becomes shorter
gradually) and finally stay lit.

If the indicator continues to flash for more than 1
minute, the version upgrade is not successful. Check
that the correct version upgrade file is copied to the
root of Memory Stick and the harness is orrectly
connected. Then, perform the version upgrade again
6. Connect the harness connected in step 3 to the original
connector (CN1454).
When using PNX179AP.VUP (VA)
1. Check that the Memory Stick to which the
PNX179AP.VUP file is copied is inserted in this unit.
2. Remove the top cover. (Refer to Section 1-3-1.)
3. Connect the monitor to one of the VIDEO, S-VIDEO
and RGB terminals.
4. Turn on the power of this unit while pressing the
switch on the MA-142 board (near the head harness at
the center of the S1454 board). The progress status is
displayed on the monitor.
5. Check that "END" is displayed on the monitor.
