CSM 1000 Series Using the documentation Note that the method described for locating specific information does not release you from your responsibility of carefully reading these instructions prior to starting the unit up for the first time and at regular intervals in the future.
CSM 1000 Series General safety guidelines These operating instructions contain the most important notes for operating the CSM safely. Obligations and liability 1.1. The basic prerequisite for the safe handling and trouble-free operation of the CSM is knowledge of the basic safety guidelines and regulations.
CSM 1000 Series Explanation of symbols and warnings 1.2. The following designations and symbols are used in this manual to designate hazards, etc.: DANGER denotes situations DANGER which can lead to death if safety precautions are not observed. WARNING denotes situations...
CSM 1000 Series Safety devices 1.5. Prior to starting up the product, make sure that all the safety devices are properly fitted to the hydraulic system and are in proper working order. Informal safety precautions 1.6. Always keep the operating instructions in the vicinity of the product.
CSM 1000 Series Safety precautions for normal operation 1.8. Operate the CSM only if all safety devices are functioning properly. Check the product for visible damage and properly functioning safety equipment at least once a day. Electrical hazards 1.9. WARNING Electric shock ...
CSM 1000 Series Packing, storage Unpacking CSM 2.1. The CSM is function and leak-tested in the factory, then properly packed. The connections/ports are sealed so that the unit remains clean while in transit. When receiving and unpacking the unit, check it for damage in transit.
CSM 1000 Series Checking the scope of delivery Upon receiving the CSM check it for any damage in transit. Do not put the CSM into operation unless it is in perfect condition. Report any damage in transit to the forwarding agent or the HYDAC department in charge immediately and do not start up the unit.
CSM 1000 Series Technical description The gear pump takes in the oil to be analyzed and conveys it to the ContaminationSensor, where the particulate contamination is scanned by an optical sensor, assigned to a to particle size classification and counted.
CSM 1000 Series CSM components 4.2. Item Description Electric motor Gear pump Test point 1 Pressure relief valve (60 bar) Test point 2 Pressure relief valve Throttle valve CS 1000 series Suction strainer 400 µm Suction port connection (IN) Return port connection (OUT) AquaSensor 1000 (optional) Leakage connection LEAKAGE (only with CSM1xxx-2..)
CSM 1000 Series Hydraulic diagram 4.3. 60 bar LEAKAGE Item Description Electric motor Gear pump (with or without leakage oil connection depending on order) Test point 1 Pressure relief valve (60 bar) Test point 2 Pressure relief valve Throttle valve CS 1000 series Suction strainer 400 µm...
CSM 1000 Series Notes on piping / hosing 5.2. Use as few threaded connections as possible in order to keep the pressure loss as low as possible. The pressure loss in a hydraulic line depends on: volumetric flow ...
CSM 1000 Series 5.2.1. Suction port - IN NOTE Intake from the tank sump prohibited Coarse particles on the bottom (sump) of the reservoir can damage the pump. The suction-side connection must be made by a flexible hose that is resistant to negative pressure or by conduits.
CSM 1000 Series Electrical connection 5.3. WARNING Electric shock The power plug must be pulled before performing work on live parts The electrical connection must be carried out by a qualified electrician. Observe the regulations in EMC Directive 89/336 EEC and Low Voltage...
CSM 1000 Series Electrical connection of the ContaminationSensor CS1000 5.4. For more information, refer to the ContaminationSensor operating and maintenance instructions included. Electrical connection of the AquaSensor AS1000 5.5. For more information, refer to the AquaSensor operating and maintenance instructions included.
CSM 1000 Series Starting up the CSM If the CSM is hydraulically connected to the entire system with IN / OUT and LEAKAGE if applicable, and the electrical connection is complete, it still has to be set. The pressure relief valve [B] and the throttle valve [A] are completely open when the unit is shipped.
CSM 1000 Series Setting the CSM 6.2. Turn the throttle valve [A] in a clockwise direction until it is completely closed. Connect the manometer to the test point [1]. HYDAC Filtertechnik GmbH Page 24 BeWa CSM1000 3265074d en 2012-09-20.doc 2012-09-20...

CSM 1000 Series Tighten the counternut. Make sure that the setting of the pressure relief valve [B] does not get changed. Tighten the head-nut. Unscrew the manometer from the test point [1] and connect it to test point [2]. Now open the throttle valve [A] a little until the manometer registers a pressure drop.
CSM 1000 Series The CSM is now ready for operation. Carrying out maintenance WARNING Hydraulic systems are under pressure Before working on the hydraulic system - depressurize The specified adjustment, maintenance, and inspection work is to be conducted in a timely fashion.
CSM 1000 Series Cleaning the suction strainer 7.1. In the event of insufficient suction or delivery action, check the suction strainer immediately! Never operate the CSM without the suction strainer, this can lead to damage to the pump.
CSM 1000 Series Errors and troubleshooting Error Cause(s) Remedy No flow The pump is pumping in the Check the rotational wrong direction direction of the motor and, if necessary, reverse the phases. Shut-off device outside of the Open shut-off device.
