SYNC with MyFord — Key Features
• Provides an intuitive way to connect the driver with
an assortment of in-car technologies and their digital
life with voice commands using SYNC
• SYNC is an in-car, voice-activated,
communications and entertainment system that uses
Bluetooth
wireless technology to allow drivers to

people they care about while on the road
• Voice command microphone flush-mounted in
headliner to help provide clear voice recognition of
100 spoken commands
• SYNC features include:
– 911 Assist that will assist occupants by placing a
911 emergency call in certain vehicle crashes by
using a properly paired phone inside the vehicle
– Vehicle Health Report (VHR) that helps
owners monitor the operating condition of their
vehicles and allows them to produce an easy-to-
understand report accessible on support.ford.com
– SYNC AppLink
provides control of certain

commands, connecting to apps like Pandora

(1) Driving while distracted can result in loss of vehicle control. Only use
SYNC/MyFord Touch/other devices, even with voice commands, when
it's safe to do so. Some features may be locked out while the vehicle is
in gear. Not all features are compatible with all phones.
(2) The Bluetooth word mark is a trademark of the Bluetooth SIG, Inc.
(3) The vehicle's electrical system (including the battery), the wireless
service provider's signal and a connected mobile phone must all be
available and operating for 911 Assist to function properly. These
systems may become damaged in a crash. The paired mobile phone
must be connected to SYNC, and the 911 Assist feature enabled, in
order for 911 to be dialed. When the feature is ON, 911 Assist uses your
paired and connected mobile phone to assist occupants to contact
emergency services by dialing 911 if your airbag deploys or, on certain
vehicles, if the emergency fuel pump shutoff is activated.
(4) SYNC AppLink is available on select models and compatible with
select smartphone platforms. Commands may vary by phone and
AppLink software.

• 4.2" multifunction display centered in the
instrument cluster for vehicle-based information
– Monitors many vehicle systems to alert drivers of
potential vehicle problems and various conditions
with informational messages and/or warnings
(System Check)
– Used to program/configure different features of the
vehicle, such as:
• Trip 1 and 2: includes odometer, timer, distance to
empty and average fuel economy
• Information: includes MyKey data for miles driven
and number of keys programmed
• Settings: includes On/Off for various driver assist
features, duration of headlamp delay and more
• 4.2" LCD screen in the center stack for audio/
entertainment/phone information
– Provides eye level display for the radio and other
features/settings:
• CD/SiriusXM/Aux/Phone/Menu/Sound/Clock
• 5-way control pads on the steering wheel
– Left pad controls instrument cluster screen
– Right pad controls center stack screen
– Control pads are familiar and intuitive, provide
simple menu navigation and selection
• Media hub that includes:
– One audio input jack
– One USB port
• For a $60 annual upgrade fee, customers can
upgrade their SYNC subscription to include all the
features of SYNC Services, such as Traffic, Directions
and Information, Send to SYNC and 1 year or 20
sessions of Operator Assist
