WARNING
INJECTION HAZARD
To reduce the risk of a fluid injection
injury, follow the Pressure Relief Proce-
dure on page 9 before checking or
servicing any of the system equipment and when-
ever you are instructed to relieve pressure.

Cause
Worn packings or needle shaft
Air valve not seating properly

Needle ball worn or damaged
Worn seat assembly
Spray tip seal leaking
Leaking around seat housing
Fluid inlet fitting leaking
Fluid buildup on fluid needle compo-
nents
Tip orifice plugged
Fluid hose plugged
NOTE:
D Check all possible remedies in the troubleshooting
charts before disassembling the gun.
D Some improper patterns are caused by the
improper balance between air and fluid.
Solution
Replace entire needle assembly (12).
Clean or replace air valve (23).
Replace entire needle assembly (12).
Replace the seat assembly (13) and
gasket (12b). The gasket must be
replaced whenever the seat assembly
is removed.
Tighten tip guard assembly (18) or
replace spray tip (33).
Replace the gasket (12b). The gasket
must be replaced whenever the seat
assembly is removed.
Replace the fluid tube gasket (7). The
gasket must be replaced whenever
the fluid tube connector is removed.
Remove and clean or replace the
fluid needle assembly (12).
Very slowly loosen tip guard assem-
bly (18), air cap (14), and spray tip
(33). Clean the tip orifice.
After tip removal (see above), very
slowly loosen the hose end coupling
at the gun and relieve pressure grad-
ually. Then loosen completely to clear
the obstruction.
