Formatting the Hard Disk Drive
Format your hard disk before use, if necessary.
What is Format?
Format is an operation that initializes the hard disk. Since the Format
operation deletes all data stored on the hard disk, make sure that all important
data has been backed up before performing the Format operation.
1. Click Start > My Computer.
2. Press touchpad right button on the newly added hard disk drive (e.g. D:) and then
click Format.
When adding an initial state hard disk
Since an initial state hard disk appears in the [My Computer] window, format
the hard disk completing the following procedures.
1. Click Start > Control Panel > Performance and Maintenance >
Administrative Tools > Computer Management.
2. Select 'Disk Management' under the 'Storage' item, configure the partition
of the newly added hard disk and then format the hard disk.
