Caution! Before cleaning switch off the Novasina AW SPRINT and dis-
connect it from the mains.
Use a damp cloth to clean the housing of the Novasina AW SPRINT. Use
a commercially available mild cleaning agent, as required. Make sure no
water is entering the housing or the connectors.
Caution! Do not use aggressive cleaning agents.

Like all precision measuring instruments, the Novasina humidity sensor
must be checked periodically. After initial commissioning of the instrument,
we recommend carrying out a calibration every couple of months, the
evaluation of the results enabling conclusions to be drawn on the required
calibration interval.
Like all precision measuring instruments, the Novasina humidity sensor
must be checked periodically. Novasina developed a simple method for
checking the sensors with humidity standards. The humidity standards are
saturated aqueous salt solutions consisting of pure chemical salts and
distilled water.
If the humidity standard is brought into contact with the sensor, after the
thermal equilibrium has been achieved, a certain relative humidity is
obtained (see chapter 11). If the deviation is greater than desired, recali-
bration according to chapter 5.3) is recommended.
The humidity standards should be saturated so that they form a slushy
slurry. Before use we recommend shaking the humidity standard vigorously.
Note: Under normal conditions the humidity standards will last for several
years.

The use of special prefilters (available as accessories) is recommended as
protection against special loading due to chemical aggression.
A destructive effect on a cell may have: mineral acids (sulphuric acid etc.),
halogens, strong oxidants, corrosive substances. High molecular alcohols
and ammonia compounds are particularly damaging, the degree of harm-
fulness depending on concentration and temperature.

Chemical prefilters are to be used if the MAK-values are exceeded. Some
MAK-values: sulphur dioxide 2 ppm, formaldehyde 2 ppm, hydrogen sul-
fide 3 ppm, ethanol 300 ppm.
Please consult the updated filter datasheets.
– Redox filter
Protects against all kinds of alcohols, aromas, fragrances.
– eVC-21 chemical filter
Protects against hydrogen peroxide, acid gases, diluted acetic and
formic acid, sulfur dioxide, chlorine.
