Equipped with a newly-developed AF
sensor, it has a high-density AF with up
to 191 AF points and high-precision AF
AF points are arranged at high density,
achieving improved focusing precision
and smooth subject tracking.
The EOS-1D X Mark III has up to 191 AF points (up to 155
cross-type AF points) arranged in a high density pattern. By
miniaturizing the AF sensor pixels and obtaining a high-
resolution AF signal, focus precision and capture performance
are improved. In addition, the arrangement of high-density
AF points enables freedom of AF selection and smooth
subject tracking.
The AF sensor's dynamic range has also been expanded to
improve performance in both lower and higher lighting
conditions, and achieve a focusing brightness range of EV-4
to 21*.
