Occupant safety
When leaving the vehicle, always take
#
the SmartKey with you and lock the
vehicle.
Keep the SmartKey out of reach of chil‐
#
dren.
& WARNING Risk of fatal injury due to
exposure to extreme heat or cold in the
vehicle
If people – particularly children – are
exposed to extreme temperatures over an
extended period of time, there is a risk of
serious or even fatal injury.
Never leave anyone – particularly chil‐
#
dren – unattended in the vehicle.
Never leave animals in the vehicle unat‐
#
tended.

installing a child restraint system

Activating or deactivating the child seat
safety feature of the seat belt
& WARNING Risk of injury or death if a
seat belt is unfastened while the vehicle
is in motion
If the seat belt is released while the vehicle is
in motion, the child safety lock is deactivated
and the child restraint system is no longer
correctly secured. The seat belt is retracted
slightly by the inertia reel and cannot be
immediately fastened again.
Stop the vehicle immediately in accord‐
#
ance with the traffic conditions.
