This Basic Operation and Application Guide is designed to provide
a quick and easy way to learn to operate the

8901B Modulation
Analyzer. Chapter
2
will
provide you with all the information you need
to use the HP 8901Bs basic measurement capabilities: RF Frequency,
Modulation, Audio, and RF Power. The subsequent reference chapters
(2 through 4) are devoted to the special functions and features that
enable you to extend the operation of the

8901B. We strongly
recommend that you first familiarize yourself with Chapter
2 before
referring to the reference chapters. Once you are comfortable with the basic
operation of the instrument, it will be easier for you to understand and
implement the many additional features that the

8901B has to offer.
