Performance Tests
Section 4
PERFORMANCE TESTS
4-1. INTRODUCTION
The procedures in this section
test
the instrument's electrical performance using the specifications
of Table
1-1 as performance
standards.
A l l
tests are performed without accessing the interior
of
the instrument.
A
simpler operational test is available in Section 3, Operation, under the title Basic
hnctional Checks.
NOTE
Unless otherwise noted, no warm-up period
is
required for the following
tests.
Line voltage must be within +5% and -10%
of
nominal if the results of the
performance tests are to be considered d i d .
4-2. EQUIPMENT REQUIRED
Equipment required for the performance tests is listed in Table 1-3, Recommended Test Equipment.
Any
equipment that satisfies the critical specifications provided in the table may be substituted for the
recommended model(s).
4-3. PERFORMANCE TEST RECORD
Results of the performance tests
may be tabulated on the Performance Test Record at the end
of the procedures. The Performance Test Record lists
all
of the tested specifications and their
acceptable limits. The results, recorded at incoming inspection, can be used for comparison in periodic
maintenance and troubleshooting and after repairs or adjustments.
4-4. CALIBRATION CYCLE
This instrument requires periodic verification of performance. Depending on the use and environmental
conditions, the instrument should be checked using the following performance tests at least once
every year.
4-5. ABBREVIATED PERFORMANCE TESTING
No abbreviation of performance testing is recommended.
