5.10.1 Temperature control of the heating elements

The heating elements are controlled by a device controlling the minimum and maximum temperature. As
a rule, and unless otherwise agreed by contract, for this function double thermostats working as
temperature monitor and safety temperature monitor are used.
A detailed view of the temperaturecontrol device can be obtained from the drawings in the gearunit
documentation.
Be sure to observe the operating instructions of the heating elements for operation and
maintenance. Refer to the separate, orderspecific data sheet "Technical data" and the "List
of equipment" for technical data and control information.
5.10.2 Oillevel monitoring of the heating elements
The gear unit is moreover equipped with an oillevel monitoring system. This monitoring system checks
the oil level in the gear unit (min. oil level for emerging the heating elements).
For a detailed view, refer to the drawings in the gearunit documentation.
Be sure to observe the operating instructions of the oillevel monitoring system for operation
and maintenance. Refer to the separate, orderspecific data sheet "Technical data" and the
"List of equipment" for technical data and control information.
The gear unit is fitted with a level monitor, which complies with the requirements of
Directive 94/9/EC. This must be connected by the customer to an evaluating
instrument.
The "Oil level too low" signal must be wired so that, when the signal is given, the
heating elements are switched off.
This ensures that the heating elements are not operated, if not completely immersed.

Indication of oil level

The gear unit is fitted with an oillevel indicator (oilsight glass) for visual oillevel checking at standstill.
Checking of the oil level can be carried out by looking at the MIN and MAX marks at the inspection window
of the oilsight glass when the oil has cooled down.
A detailed view of the gear unit can be obtained from the drawings in the gearunit documentation.
