Rear bicycle carrier 5 strap fixing maximum 3 bicycles

4. assembly
4.1.
Unfold frame and set the required frame angle for the vehicle type that the carrier is being fitted to, refer to figs.1 to 6.
4.2.
adjusting the frame angle
4.2.1.
Pull the over centre levers back to allow the frame to be moved to the required angle. fix the angle brackets to the frame using
Angle Bracket Nut, see fig.1.
4.3.
locking the frame
4.3.1.
The frame is locked by using the over centre levers, see fig.1. The pressure exerted by the over centre lever is increased
by holding the nut on the back stationary and winding the lever clockwise. ensure that frame is securely locked in position and that
both levers are pushed fully over (shut).
5. fixing carrier tO Vehicles
5.1.
Wash the vehicle to remove any dirt etc. that could scratch the paintwork where the hooks attach to it.
5.2.
Position the carrier on the rear of your vehicle. The arms should be adjusted to an angle of between 10° and 30° above the
horizontal, refer to section 4.2.
5.3.
saloon cars
5.3.1.
When fitting the carrier ensure that straps are not twisted and that the straps are progressively tightened alternately and equally.
5.3.2.
ensure the carrier is centrally positioned.
5.3.3.
Set the angle of the frame for a saloon car, see section 4.2, and refer to fig.3.
5.3.4.
depending on the shape of the car, the angle brackets may need to be fastened to the bolts which hold the lower strap buckles to
the frame using the spare handwheels, see fig.2.
saloon: adjust angle to 90°
5.3.5.
refer to the vehicle manufacturer's handbook.
5.3.6.
Hook the top strap to the top edge of the boot lid, fix the two side straps to each edge of the boot lid and the two bottom straps to
the bottom edge of the boot lid.
5.3.7.
equally tighten the straps, check the position of the carrier and fully tighten the straps.
