CCTV Colour Camera

GB
Please read these operating instructions carefully
prior to installing the unit and keep them for later use.
1 Applications
This high-resolution CCTV colour camera is specially
designed for application in video surveillance systems
and is mounted on the ceiling. It is weatherproof
(IP 67) and therefore also suitable for outdoor use. As
a protection against vandalism, the dome is made of
extra break-proof material. In addition, the metal hous-
ing can only be opened with the special key supplied.
The camera is equipped with a zoom lens provided
with a DC-controlled iris (DC lens). To obtain an opti-
mum colour quality in daylight, an IR suppression filter
is placed in front of the lens. For night operation, this
filter is moved aside and the camera switches to black-
and-white reproduction. Thus, the luminous sensitivity
at night is increased and an IR floodlight may be used,
if required.

2 Safety Notes

The camera corresponds to all required directives of
the EU and is therefore marked with
G
Protect the camera against extreme temperatures
(admissible ambient temperature range -10 °C to
+50 °C).
G
Never use aggressive detergents or chemicals for
cleaning the camera.
G
No guarantee claims for the camera and no liability
for any resulting personal damage or material dam-
age will be accepted if the camera is used for other
purposes than originally intended, if it is not correct-
ly mounted or connected or not repaired in an expert
way.
If the camera is to be put out of operation
definitively, take it to a local recycling plant for
a disposal which is not harmful to the envi-
ronment.
3 Operation
3.1 Mounting
Unscrew the dome with the special key supplied.
Mount the camera to a suitable place. After setting the
camera into operation, screw on the dome again.
For outdoor installation, fasten the supplied self-
adhesive sealing ring to the camera housing in such a
way that the housing is sealed towards the ceiling.

3.2 Electrical connection
Important! The inline jacks (1, 2) for connection and
the cable distributor (3) are not weatherproof. For
outdoor installation, they must be protected corre-
spondingly.
1) Connect the yellow BNC jack (1) via a screened
connection cable to the video input of a monitor.
With a cable length exceeding 100 m, a video am -
plifier should be inserted between the camera and
the cable to compensate cable loss.
2) Connect a regulated 12 V power supply unit with a
minimum permanent current rating of 180 mA (e. g.
MONACOR PS-500ST) to the red low-voltage in-
line jack (2). A low-voltage plug 5.5/ 2.1 mm (out -
side/ inside diameter) is required. Always observe
the correct polarity: Connect the positive pole to the
inner contact of the plug.
3.3 Adjusting the camera and the lens
1) For adjusting the camera to the surveillance zone,
switch on the monitor. The camera can be tilted,
panned, and inclined. For this purpose, release the
corresponding screws (for panning only release the
screw with the two arrows). Adjust the camera in an
.
optimum way and retighten the screws. If required,
also turn the window in the dome. For this purpose,
release the retaining ring of the dome.
2) With the zoom adjusting ring (5), adjust the picture
detail, then adjust a clear picture with the focus set-
ting ring (4). The corresponding adjusting lever is a
locking screw at the same time which must be
released prior to adjustment and tightened after
adjustment.
3) If the picture on the monitor is too bright or too dark
despite a sufficient illumination, the trimming poten-
tiometer (6) allows to generally open or close the
iris further.
3.4 Functions ESC, FLK, BLC, and ATW
With the DIP switches (7), the camera is preset as fol-
lows:
Switch 1 =
Switch 2 =
Switch 3 =
Switch 4 =
1) The electronic shutter (ESC) should remain deacti-
vated, as the incident light is already regulated by
the DC-controlled iris.

2) Deactivate the flicker compensation (FLK) if it im -
proves the picture and if no flickering occurs due to
light sources operated with an AC voltage of 50 Hz.
3) The automatic white balance is set to the mode
AWB which covers a control range of 2000 K to

colour reproduction, switch to the mode ATW. The
control range will then cover 2500 K to 9500 K.
4) Deactivate the backlight compensation (BLC) if it
improves the picture and if there is no backlight.
