The camera comes with 2 types of backdoors - waterproof & sound :

You use waterproof backdoor to protect the camera from 197'/60m under water.
The sound backdoor (non-waterproof) reduce the wind noise at speeds up. It provides a
better sound quality and let more a sound reach the microphone.
