It is possible to select the operating mode with the HY TECH key located on the right-
hand push button panel of the handlebar. When this key is pressed the four operating
modes are displayed. While scrolling the menu looking for the desired mode the indi-
cation on the instrument panel is flashing; when the desired mode is displayed, keep
the HY TECH key pressed for one second: the indication stops flashing and remains
fixed on the display. Only now the mode is selected. The last mode selected is dis-
played when the ignition switch is turned "ON": if the vehicle was switched off in one
of the two hybrid modes, the same hybrid mode is enabled and indicated with a fixed
light at the next key-on. If the vehicle is switched off in electric mode, the same electric
mode is indicated with a flashing light at the next key-on. The rider must then select
the electric mode again after key-on. If electric mode, as indicated by the flashing light,

is not selected within approximately one minute, the flashing indication ceases and
Hybrid Power mode is indicated with a fixed light. The petrol engine stops automati-
cally when switching from a hybrid mode (POWER or CHARGE) to electric mode. For
speeds of more than 20 Km/h the hybrid riding modes only can be selected (POWER
or CHARGE). For speeds below 20 Km/h the electric mode can also be selected. The
vehicle must be at a standstill in order to select the reverse gear (ELECTRIC RE-
VERSE).
As described previously, press the HY TECH button to switch between modes. Ex-
ample: if we are in the HYBRID CHARGE mode and we want to switch to the HYBRID
POWER mode, we have to press the HY TECH button for less than 1 second; the
HYBRID POWER icon appears and starts flashing, then we have to press the HY
TECH button for more than 1 second to confirm our choice. The HYBRID POWER
icon will now stay on with a fixed light.
