Before Using the Instrument

Turning the Power On

1.
Connect the power adaptor's DC cable to
the [DC IN 16V] jack.

Plug the AC adaptor into an AC outlet.
WARNING
Use the specified adaptor (PA-301, PA-300B or an equivalent recom-
mended by Yamaha) only. The use of other adaptors may result in
irreparable damage to both the adaptor and the Instrument.
CAUTION
Unplug the AC Power Adaptor when not using the Instrument, or
during electrical storms.

Press the [STANDBY/ON] switch to turn the power on.
The display located in the center of the front panel lights up.
When you're ready to turn off the power, press the

Even when the instrument is turned off, electricity is still flowing to the instrument at the minimum level. When you are
not using the instrument for a long time, make sure you unplug the AC power adaptor from the wall AC outlet.

Setting the Volume

Initially set the
[MASTER VOLUME]
"MIN" and "MAX" settings. Then, when you start playing, re-adjust the
[MASTER VOLUME]

[STANDBY/ON] switch

dial about halfway between the
dial to the most comfortable listening level.
MASTER VOLUME:
The volume level of the entire keyboard sound
switch again.
[STANDBY/ON]
The level
decreases.
(The shape of plug differs
depending on locale.)
Display
Normally indicates tempo.
The level
increases.
