HOOD

DESCRIPTION
The hood assembly forms the hood and upper part
of the front fenders. The headlamps and turn signal
lamps are mounted in the hood. Hinges to the front
suspension support frame attach the hood. On
newer models, a latch at the center of the upper
edge of the hood holds it secured when hood is
closed.

REMOVAL
1. Open hood.
2. Remove mounting bolts from front of hood
through hinge brackets.
3. Remove hood.
INSTALLATION
1. While supporting the hood, attach hinge bracket
to hood with mounting bolts. Bolts should be
loose enough to allow adjustment of hood for fit,
but tight enough to hold hood in adjusted
position.
2. Adjust hood latch mounting bracket until latch is
properly aligned with striker plate on hood.
3. Close hood and latch.
NOTE: Alignment adjustment of hood for proper
fit can only be made at the lower hood bracket.
Move hood brackets forward or back until
proper fit of hood is attained, then tighten the
hood bracket mounting bolts. It may be
necessary to perform alignment of headlights
after this procedure. See Accessory Component
Replacement in Electrical Section.
