Here's how for the PD 400 (Fig. 4):
For the PD 400 you must unscrew the tool post. The radius cutting attachment
is fastened in its place with the enclosed screw M8x10.
How to use your radius cutting attachment:
The tool post of the radius cutting attachment can be fastened in different po-
sitions to the swivelling plate (Fig. 5-6). This determines the desired radius in
addition to the clamping position of the cutting tool, of course. If the cutting
edge of the cutting tool is between the longitudinal axis of the work piece and
the pivotal point of the swivelling plate, the radii you cut will be concave (Fig.
5). If, on the other hand, the cutting edge is behind the pivotal point of the
swivelling plate, the radii you cut will be convex (Fig. 6).
Height adjustment of cutting tool:
A finishing cut is best suited for work, such as a finishing cut from the PROXON
cutting tool set, Art. No. 24530 which is included in this set. Generally ensure
that the cutting edge of the tool is aligned to the centre of the work piece, e.g.
when using different tools. The tool post can be shifted within its guide. To do
so, release the Allen screw at the rear of the guide, adjust the threaded rod at
the tool post to the required height and retighten the screw at the rear.
