If we assume that you are planning a music synchronized fireworks display the following arrangement
could be ideal for you:
If you are using the delay function you always have to program the distance from the PFE Profi Audio
to the zero line in meters. If you enter e.g. "+340m" the device will start to play the music one second
later. If you enter e.g. "-680m" the music starts to play two seconds earlier.
If the delay function of the PFE Profi Audio is used there is no need for conventional delay lines in the
signal path of the PA system at all in many cases. With the conventional solution only positive delays
can be realized. With the PFE Profi Audio also negative delays can be programmed and by doing so
the absolute timing error, which is caused by the acoustic velocity, can be reduced by 50%. When it
comes to music synchronized shows which are choreographed very precisely it makes a big difference
if the spectators in the first and in the last row watch the display with a timing error of 1.0 or only 0.5
seconds.
To synchronize the fireworks display as well as possible to your music locate the theoretical zero line
in the area with the largest number of spectators. For a fireworks competition it is making sense to
locate the theoretical zero line where the jury will be. It absolutely making sense to use positive and
negative delays when you operate the PFE Profi Audio. This enables you to significantly reduce the
maximum delay to the zero line (e.g. use -300m and +300m instead of +0m and +600m).
