GLOSSARY OF TERMS

4:3 P/S:
Pansan screen display. If
the unit is connected to a
television a wide-screen image
will be displayed on screen
in its native aspect ratio with
some of the right and left
sections cut off.
4:3 L/S:
Letterbox screen display. If
the unit is connected to a
television a wide-screen image
will be displayed on screen
in its native aspect ratio with
black borders on the top and
bottom, allowing the full image
to be displayed.
16:9:
Widescreen display. A wide-
screen image will be displayed
in full screen in it native aspect
ratio, with the 4:3 image is
stretched horizontally to fit to
the screen
A-B Repeat:
The A-B button on a remote
control, not to be confused
with the Repeat button.
Pressing the A-B button allows
you to manually select a
section to repeat.
AC IN:
AC Input socket for AV Cables
ANGLE MARK: Allows you to view different
camera angles on discs
encoded with angle mark
functions.
AV Cable:
AV Cables are used to transmit
audio/visual signals.
CVBS:
Composite Video Blanking and
Sync. A type of video signal
which is mainly analog.
DVD:
A compact disc that stores
large amounts of high-
resolution audio-visual data.
DVCD:
Double Video Compact Disc - a
type of VCD that holds video
and audio.
FPS:
Frames per second.
L/R VIDEO
OUTPUT:
Left and Right video outputs
for RCA Cable input. Colour
coded red and white to match
with corresponding cable
connections.

LT/RT:
5.1 channel audio is mixed into
left channel and right channel
and is output via the FL and FR
speaker respectively.
L-MONO:
DVD player outputs the left
channel audio only via both the
FL and FR speaker.
NTSC:
A television display system
used in the U.S and Canada.
Delivers a frame rate of 30 fps
using 525 lines.
OSD:
On-screen Display. A control
panel that allows you to select
and edit the display (such as
brightness and contrast) and
select viewing options.
PAL:
A television display system
commonly used in Europe and
parts of Asia. Delivers a frame
rate of 25 fps with 625 lines.
PBC:
Playback Control.
Ratings:
Universal
