Simple commands

Simple commands are made up of the escape character and one
or two other lower case characters. They do not require any line
end command for completion.
Example The command for centreing a line of text:

q

Commands with user-entered variables

Commands with user-entered variables set parameters such as
the line spacing or margin width. They may include punctuation
marks that serve as delimiters and alphanumeric characters such
as comments or file names. Some require a line end.
Example The command for setting margins:
EmH,T,B,L,RL

The User-Defined Key (UDK) should be used when:
The host's escape character cannot be transmitted properly

to the printer.
You want a printout of a document that shows the printer
•
commands as well as the document data.
At the start of a job, enter:

XES COMMAND LANGUAGE MODE
The instruction for centreing (lowercase q).
The instruction for margins.
Variables - In this case, the values of the
margin settings (Height, Top, Bottom, Left,
Right) in pixels or fractions of an inch. The
values are separated by commas.
The line end required to complete the
command.
Is the command to substitute an escape character
Indicates the character you have chosen for the
UDK.
