INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS - RETROFIT BATTERY FLUSHOMETER
(For Hardwire Installation, see page 3.)
HANDS SHOULD BE CLEAN AND FREE OF GREASE AND OIL during any maintenance or
handling of electronic housing components to prevent possible damage to internal circuitry.
STEP 1:
SHUT-OFF the water supply to the flushometer and inlet supply stop.
STEP 2:
REMOVE the complete handle unit from the flushometer body. See Figure 1.
REMOVE the top cover and cast cap assembly from the top of the flushometer valve body.
REMOVE the diaphragm assembly from inside the flushometer valve body.
REMOVE the chrome plated brass seat (item #12, Part # 062007A) from inside the flushometer
valve body using a 1½" socket.
STEP 3:
INSTALL filter screen (included). NOTE: Place filter in stop bore with conical screen facing the water
flow. CAUTION: Do not push filter in too far. Let filter seat against face of flush valve tail. Periodic
cleaning of the filter screen with water is recommended depending on local water conditions to remove
any dirt or sediment. See filter screen M&I for additional installation information. INSTALL the plug
and O-ring supplied (item # 13, Part # 060342A) into the handle end of the flushometer body.
INSTALL the chrome plated brass seat (item #12, Part # 062007A) into the flushometer body with a
1½" socket.
INSTALL the diaphragm assembly (item #11, Part # 061323A), two washers (item #10b, Part # 061124A)
and the non-hold open poppet pin (item #10a, Part # 060507A).
STEP 4:
REMOVE the 2 cover screws and SLIDE the metal cover (item #3, Part # 061139A) from the retrofit
electronic assembly.
POSITION the cast cap assembly on the flushometer valve body so that the regulating screw (item #8,
Part # 061024A) is located at the inlet supply stop end of the valve body (and opposite the handle end
on the valve body).
Rotate clear case to access 4 screws on cast cap.
TIGHTEN the cast cap assembly to the flushometer valve body with the 4 screws (item #9b, Part #
060078A) (see Fig. 2).
REPLACE metal cover, insert cover screws and tighten.
IF LEFT HAND STOP REQUIRED:
Remove the cover by taking out the two cover screws (part A on Fig. 2).
Flush volume adjustment:
1.60 U.S. gallons / 6.0 litres for water closets
The Regulating Screw (item #8, Part # 061024A) may be adjusted, according to job conditions and fixture installed to the proper water volume
to flush that particular fixture.
NOTE: 6 Litre water closets may require the Angle Stop to be set at only ONE TURN OPEN. For a SHORTER flush, turn the Regulating
Screw (item #8, Part # 061024A) left (counter-clockwise) and right (clockwise) for a LONGER flush.
STEP 5:
Follow instructions on yellow static label. Note: The batteries are already installed and the product is in hibernation mode waiting to
