9. Normal Operation
9.1. Check expiry date of breathing filter
Note!
Check the expiry date of the breathing filter every time before it is used.
If the expiry date has been exceeded, the breathing filters [1-5] must be
replaced in pairs.
■ Check expiry date of the breathing filters and replace if necessary (see
chapter 10.1).
9.2. Check half mask
Note!
Before putting the half mask on, ensure that the inhaling and exhaling
membranes are working properly.
■ Check inhaling and exhaling membranes (see chapter 10.3).
9.3. Put the half mask on
Warning!
Health risk from poisoning
If the half mask does not fit tightly to your face, pollutants can penetrate
from the outside.
→ Tighten both ends of the head strap until the half mask fits tightly to
your face.
→ Only start to work when the half mask fits tightly with inserted breath-
ing filter.
■ Pull the head fixation loops [3-2] to the end of the head straps.
■ Pull the lower straps [3-1] right through until the head fixation loops fit
firmly on the mask cap.
■ Pull lower straps [4-2] over your head.
■ Set half mask [4-3] over your mouth and nose.
■ Position head fixation[4-1] at the back of your head and fit it along the
top of your ears [5-1].
■ Pull both ends of the head straps [5-2] and [5-4] tight until the half
mask fits tightly to your face.
■ Evenly balance out the head straps and lower straps. If necessary,
readjust the half mask so that it fits comfortably and firmly to your face.
