Getting Ready for Measurements

1 .2 .1 Dedicated REGIUS Plates and Cassettes
The customer should reserve one of each size (one 18×24 and one 24×30) of REGIUS plate and cassette for QC
activities only . These plates and cassettes should be used for QC procedures described in this document unless
otherwise directed. The reserved plates and cassettes should be clearly identified as intended for QC only, and they
should not be used for patient imaging .

Exam Tags and Processing Menu

When acquiring an image in the QC procedures, the customer should register a cassette to a particular exam tag as
directed in this document . The processing menu for the exam tags used for QC procedures has been registered in
advance and should not be changed by the customer . For details on exam tags, processing menu and image pro-
cessing parameters, contact your service representative .

S value

S value is a relative measure of the amount of exposure received by the REGIUS plate . S value is inversely propor-
tional to the incident X-ray dose . If the same subject is exposed using the same X-ray characteristics, same position-
ing and same exam tags, a doubling of the X-ray dose will have a half S value . The S value of the image should be
equal to 2400 divided by the mR of the exposure . S value should be properly calibrated at installation of REGIUS
Model 190/210/110HQ prior to any QC activities .
