    This document shows how to install all the drivers needed to operate and communicate with the robotic arm JACO. Every process described in this document will reference files included in your software package mostly located in the folder named [Drivers].

    2.1.  Plug the robotic arm JACO in the computer via a USB cable. Turn the robotic arm on and the OS will detect that there is a new device to be installed. You should see a window that asks what to do. Select the installation with a specific location.

    This section describes how to install the JACO’s drivers under Windows 7. 3.1. Installation  Plug the robotic arm JACO in the computer via a USB cable. Turn the robotic arm on and the OS will detect the arm automatically as an unknown device. 3.1.1. Development Center SDK o In the Windows Control Panel, open the device manager and wait for the computer to detect a Custom USB Device.

    WINDOWS 8 This section describes how to install the JACO’s drivers under Windows 8. 4.1. Installation  Move your mouse to the bottom-right corner of the screen and click on the button Settings.  Click on the button Change PC settings located at the bottom of the menu.
  • Page 9  Select TroubleShoot.  Select Advanced options.  Select Startup Settings.
  • Page 10  Click on the button Restart.  Press the key F7 on your keyboard to disable the driver signature enforcement.  Install the driver the same way as in Windows 7 via the device manager. To access the device manager, right click on the bottom-left corner of the screen and select Device Manager.

    WINDOWS 10 This section describes how to install the JACO’s drivers under Windows 10. 5.1. Installation  Simply select Restart from the power options menu and Hold down the SHIFT key while you click Restart.  Once the computer has rebooted you will be able to choose the Troubleshoot option.
  • Page 12  Then head into Advanced options.  Then Startup Settings.  Since we are modifying boot time configuration settings, you will need to restart the computer one last time.
  • Page 13  Finally, you will be given a list of startup settings that you can change. The one we are looking for is “Disable driver signature enforcement”. To choose the setting, you will need to press the F7 key.  The computer will then reboot and you will be able to install the robot drivers without any error message and install the driver the same way as in Windows 7 via the device manager.
