INSTRUCTIONS for
AIR-FUEL GAS TORCH EQUIPMENT
These INSTRUCTIONS are for experienced operators. It you are not fully familiar with the
principles of operation and sate practices for air-fuel gas equipment, we urge you to read
our booklet "Precautions and Sate Practices," Form 2035. Do NOT permit untrained per-
sons to operate this equipment. Do NOT atlempt to operate this equipment until you have
read and fully understand these Instructions. It you do not fully understand these Instruc-
tions, contact your supplier tor further intormation.
TO ASSEMBLE TORCH UNIT TO FUEL GAS CYLINDER:
1. Read Safety Precautions on page 3.
2. Make sure valve on torch unit is closed tightly by turning clockwise.
3. Screw torch unit on the cylinder outlet. Turn unit clockwise (cylinder counterclockwise)
until unit is seated hand-tight. DO NOT USE A WRENCH OR OTHER TOOL TO
TIGHTEN.
TO LIGHT THE TORCH:
1. Using a friction lighter, position lighter cup close to end of burner, with about a 30 to
45- degree angle between the bottom of the lighter cup and the axis of the burner as
illustrated. Then open torch unit valve slightly and immediately actuate lighter.
2. After flame has been lit, adjust torch unit valve, if necessary, to secure desired flame.
3. Always allow torch to warm up thoroughly, which takes several seconds, if you invert
the unit so that the flame points downward. CAUTION: Prolonged operation of the unit
in an inverted position may cause the flame to flare and suddenly elongate.
