RATE SWITCH
• This switch controls the rate at which the CPU
processes instructions .
• This switch, in any position other than PROCESS,
turns on the TEST indicator.

This position is for normal program processing.
INSTRUCTION STEP
In this position, one complete machine language
instruction (including all pending interrupts allowed by
the system mask) is executed for each operation of the
START key. The machine enters the soft-stop state, and
the EXE CPL T indicator turns on. The address of the
next instruction is displayed in the A-REGISTER DISPLAY
roller switch, position 1.
Service Use
The switch positions not defined are for service personnel
and are described in maintenance documentation.
