- Page 2 Midian’s TRE-2 can convert a DC remote into a tone remote or upgrade an existing tone remote controller to have more function tones. The TRE-2 can be added to a Telco Butt-In Test Set to use as a test instrument for tone remote lines.
- Page 3 P1-2 – Red - +5.5 – 15 VDC – Connect to switched B+ in the radio. P1-3 – Brown – Test Mode – Connecting this wire to B+ and pressing PTT puts the TRE-2 into a test mode. This extends all of the tones to about 8 seconds each to facilitate setting the output level using pot R30.
- Page 4 OPERATION When the PTT input is taken to ground, the TRE-2 generates a high level 2175 Hz guard tone for 120 msec at a relative level of +10 dB, followed by 40 msec of the selected function tone at a relative level of 0 dB followed by a continuous low level guard tone at –20 dB relative level.
