Head removal
When removing the head, follow the procedure described below:
I) Remove the . carrier cover, and move the head to a position where no PH roller is fitted.
2) Insert a coin between the head and the head set lever securing the head. Tum the right
coin clockwise and left coin counterclockwise to open the levers.
\. 3) Pull the PH shaft toward the front, and lift the head. The connector then parts from the
head. Next, tum the PH shaft toward the rear, and lift the head again to remove it.

(b) Cleaning Period
I) Whenever ribbon chips or dust accumulate on the detector or the head end.
2) Every 500,000 lines of printing or every year.
(c) Notes on Cleaning
I) To avoid disturbing delicate mechanical adjustment made during assembly, do not
remove parts other than the ribbon when cleaning.
2) Do not use detergents or solvents such as bezine when cleaning.
3) To clean the cover, use cloth with water or weak liquid soap.
