Security Measures

To prevent unauthorized access of your computer, the various security measures are
provided below.
Situation
You do not want the settings in the Setup
Utility to be changed
You do not want your computer to be
used without your permission
You do not want your computer to be
used without your permission
You do not want the computer to resume
operation from standby or hibernation
mode
You do not want data stored on the hard
disk to be read or data to be written to the
hard disk and/or you want to prevent loss
of data due to theft of the hard disk
You want to prevent theft of your
computer

For this function to work correctly a "Supervisor Password" must be set.
NOTE
Windows has a security function that differs from the above security measures. For
detailed information, refer to the Windows help.
For security functions for the wireless LAN:
CAUTION
Do not forget your password!
• If the Supervisor Password is forgotten:
Contact your technical support office.
• If the User Password is forgotten:
Ask a person who knows the Supervisor Password.
• If the Windows log-on password is forgotten:
