    First-time Operation Battery Pack Latches Read the steps below to help you learn what parts are included, and to gain an understanding of some basic computer-related operations. CAUTION Be sure the AC adaptor is connected until completing the first-time use opera- tion. When using the computer for the first time, do not connect any peripheral de- vice except the battery pack and AC adaptor to the computer.

Set the correct date, time and the time zone, then click [Next]. NOTE It may take some time before the computer restarts and the screen of step 7 is displayed.

    RAM Module Use a RAM module meeting the RAM module specifications below. If a module is used that does not meet the specifications, there are cases in which data may become unusable or the computer may not operate properly. RAM module specifications: ( 172 pins, Micro DIMM, 2.5 V, DDR SDRAM, PC2100 Contact your technical support office to confirm recommended RAM module.

(The gold terminals (F) are visible) 3 Insert the module parallel to the slot and press firmly until the gold terminals are no longer visible. The slot may be damaged if the following procedure is performed without inserting the module firmly.

If you divide the hard disk into partitions before creating the backup area, the backup area cannot be created.

    How to run the Setup Utility Restart the computer. Press F2 while [Panasonic] boot screen is displayed soon after the computer begins the startup procedure. If an external keyboard is connected, disconnect these devices. An error has occurred in the memory that stores the Setup Utility settings. This error occurs when the memory content is changed through some inadvertent operation by a program or other function.
